Glee…………..
SO!
Glad that Karofsky didn’t die. Not glad they killed off Quinn.
There is A LOT to say about Glee.
To me, the Karofsky suicide attempt was poorly developed. Out of one quick incident, he decides to off himself. He said that this lasted for weeks but we only saw five minutes of it. I wish they could of should a scene, either during this episode or in a previous episode, that shows Karofsky either having lots of friends and love at school OR showing how he is constantly being picked on at school cuz he was outted. That way, we could feel his pain and conclude that him deciding to kill himself is (il)logical decision for his character to make. It would have been in-character for him. HOWEVER, I do understand the other side of this. Kurt probably had tougher skin then Karofsky. Kurt has been (and always will be picked) cuz he is different, gay or not. He is use to the bullying. It is (sadly) a factor in his life. Karofsky wouldn’t be picked on, so he isn’t used to malicious things thrown at him. So it makes since that a radical change in attitude towards Karofsky would make come to a radical decision to kill himself. Either way, glad he ain’t dead.
Quinn… Ryan Murphy, I hate you. (not really)
I would have to say, excellent buildup to her dying. First, I believe she died because they developed that Quinn life has succeed. Quinn has gone through the darkness, came out of it into the light. She went through a pregnancy and the trauma of losing her child. She was at an all time low. BUT she preserved and became a better person for it. She successfully influenced others from events in her life, she matured and set up herself a bright future, and she made peace with God (I’m a Christian, so I am glad she did this and that this was included in the story). Quinn finished her race. Now there is nothing left for her to die but die. It is interesting how they offed her by getting rid of a character AND facing an issue in today’s world (texting while driving). I will NOT be surprised if Quinn ends up dead. It just makes since. AND, they set up this whole episode to remind us how Quinn has come out the other side of all the crap she has been through. It just makes since if she is dead now. Sad that she is gone, but I know she is in a better place. AND that we all will be in a better place through Quinn’s example.
Facing two serious issues in teenagers today. Suicide because of bullying and texting while driving. (Somewhat) nicely done.
And Shue’s suicide story. WEAK! But I think it was to demonstrate that Teens are rash, radical, and fragile. One touch can lead a teenager off the edge. Fast, too. But still, wish it was something a little bit more dramatic so we could relate. Maybe for the kids with high academic pressure on them.
Stil wish it was stronger.
To April 10th we go!
